How to Play 2048

2048 is a single-player puzzle game played on a 4x4 grid. The objective is to slide numbered tiles on the grid to combine them and create a tile with the number 2048.

1. Starting the Game: The game starts with two tiles on the grid, which can be either a 2 or a 4.
2. Making a Move: Use the arrow keys on your keyboard (or swipe on a touchscreen) to move all tiles in one direction (Up, Down, Left, or Right).
3. Merging Tiles: When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into a new tile with the sum of their values. For example, two '8' tiles merge to become a '16' tile. The merged tile cannot merge with another tile in the same move.
4. New Tiles: After every successful move (i.e., at least one tile moves or merges), a new tile (either a 2 or a 4) will appear in a random empty spot on the grid.
5. Winning & Losing: You win the game by creating a 2048 tile. You lose when the grid is full and there are no possible moves left to make (no empty cells and no adjacent tiles with the same value).

Strategy & Tips

While the game is simple to learn, it can be quite challenging. Here are a few tips to improve your score:

• Corner Strategy: Try to keep your highest value tile in one of the corners (e.g., the bottom right). This gives you more control and predictability.
• Keep Rows Full: To execute the corner strategy, try to keep the row or column of your highest tile full. For example, if your highest tile is in the bottom right, try to keep the bottom row full so you can freely move tiles left and right without disturbing your anchor tile.
• Think Ahead: Try to anticipate where new tiles might appear and how your next move will set up future merges. Avoid making random moves.
