What is the Model Context Protocol (MCP)?

MCP is an open standard introduced by Anthropic that allows AI models (like Claude, Cursor, and Cline) to securely connect to local and remote data sources or tools. By using our MCP server, you give your AI assistant the ability to use CodingMantra's generation capabilities directly inside your development workflow.

Which AI agents and IDEs support this MCP server?

Our MCP server works out of the box with Claude Desktop, Cursor IDE, Cline (VS Code extension), and Google Antigravity. Any client that supports standard stdio MCP transport can integrate with it seamlessly.

Can I pass local image files from my computer into MCP tools?

Yes! For all tools accepting reference images (such as virtual try-on, sketch-to-real, image-to-video, or upscaling), you can provide absolute or relative local disk paths (e.g., /Users/username/photos/product.png or ./assets/ring.jpg). The MCP server automatically detects local paths, reads the image, and converts it to a base64 data URI.

Does the MCP server render generated images inside the chat window?

Yes! Our server returns standard MCP ImageContent blocks. Modern MCP clients like Claude Desktop and Cursor render generated images and try-on results inline directly in the chat response, alongside download links and cloud gallery URLs.

How are credits consumed when using MCP?

When your AI agent calls a tool (like generating a logo or try-on photo), it uses your CodingMantra API Key. Credits are deducted from your account exactly as if you had used our web portal or REST API. You can also run the get_user_credits tool anytime to inspect your remaining credits.

Are generated assets saved to my account?

Yes. Every synchronous generation and video output is automatically persisted to your CodingMantra cloud gallery in Firebase Storage and linked to your user account.

Is my API Key secure?

Yes. The API key is stored locally on your machine within your agent's configuration file (e.g., claude_desktop_config.json) and is only transmitted over HTTPS when executing a tool call.
